Destination Halifax Wins Two Social Media AwardsFriday, June 21, 2013 - 16:00
Destination Halifax won big this week at the Atlantic Interactive Marketing (AIM) Awards.
The Destination Marketing Organization took home the top honour in the categories of Best Social Media Presence and Best Social Media Campaign for its Pinterest-based efforts which included a unique contest entitled "Best of Halifax Pin & Win".
The contest helped launch Destination Halifax's Pinterest account in August, 2012 by encouraging visitors to pin their ideal Halifax vacation for a chance to win their custom trip.
By continuing to create and share content inspired by the Halifax region and telling the Halifax story through engaging visuals, the Destination Halifax's Pinterest account has grown to 22 boards, over 565 pins, and close to 1300 followers.
"We are honoured to be recognized for our efforts in social media and online marketing," said Patricia Lyall, President & CEO of Destination Halifax. "As an organization, we strive to be a leader in the digital space and receiving these awards reaffirms our dedication to growing our online presence."
The AIM awards were handed out Wednesday at the Awards Gala, which kicked off the annual conference. The AIM conference is a three day event providing expert guidance in social media, mobile, and integrating interactive with traditional marketing and the future of all three.
