Halifax, September 28 – Robert Young – Nova Scotia Power Inc.’s forestry manager - has received a Destination Halifax Ambassador Award for his contributions to the success of the Utility Arborist Association’s 11th International Symposium in Halifax.
“Mr. Young’s enthusiasm for Halifax is contagious,” said Hélène Moberg, Executive Director, Sales, Destination Halifax. “He and his team generated excitement around Halifax as the symposium’s host destination, resulting in very high delegate turnout.”
The symposium took place at the World Trade and Convention Centre and attracted nearly 400 delegates from across Canada, the USA, Europe and South America. Discussions focused on environmental concerns and rights-of-way management. Participants spent time in downtown Halifax, the Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia’s South Shore and Peggy’s Cove.
“Halifax offers a well-rounded conference experience,” said Mr. Young. “The city’s proximity to nature makes it easy for attendees to explore greater Nova Scotia.”
The Ambassador Program is an alliance of individuals and organizations who achieve economic growth for the Halifax region through the promotion of Halifax as a premier meetings and conventions destination. The program has been led by Destination Halifax since 2002.
