Baroque Masterworks with Mathieu Lussier

Canadian bassoonist and conductor Mathieu Lussier is “a classical triple threat” and “a virtuoso player” (Ottawa Citizen) who’s made a name for himself as Associate Conductor of Quebec’s acclaimed Violons du Roy. Mathieu joins Symphony Nova Scotia for the first time in a concert of tempestuous Baroque hits, including Handel’s Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, Bach’s Suite no. 1, Gossec’s dark and stormy Symphony in C, and a virtuoso showpiece from the master of all bassoon concertos, Vivaldi. ONE PERFORMANCE: Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 2:00 pm at St. Andrew's United Church.
