Dr. Boyd has a long history with the Canadian Institute of Chemistry, having participated in the planning of several previous iterations of the Canadian Chemistry Conference. In 2012 he decided it was time again to look at hosting and bid for the 2016 conference. Dr. Boyd, along with his team, invited their colleagues from across Canada to meet in Halifax in early June. Approximately 1500 delegates heeded the call and gathered here to discuss the latest in chemistry, chemical engineering, and chemical technologists, etc.
