This summer, enjoy adventure by the sea at the Tall Ships Nova Scotia festival. Visit the ships in Halifax from July 19 - 23, 2012 and follow them to outports across the province July 24 - 30, 2012. The Festival will include ceremonies to commemorate Nova Scotia's connections to the War of 1812.
A stroll through the Halifax Public Gardens - North America’s oldest formal Victorian gardens located in the heart of the city - is a delight for both young and old.
Home to the world’s second largest natural harbour, visitors can enjoy Halifax outdoor activities in a number of ways:

Play a round at one of the many golf courses in the region, including Glen Arbour and Granite Springs golf clubs. Or enjoy a paddle at Lake Banook, one of the many lakes located in Dartmouth, known as the “the city of lakes”.
A short drive from the city offers a world of even more exhilaration. From ocean kayaking in East Dover and the Saint Margaret’s Bay, to surfing at Lawrencetown Beach, or exploring the rocks at Peggy’s Cove, to Tidal Bore Rafting on the Shubenacadie River, to hiking one of the many trails like Taylor Head and the Musquodoboit TransCanada Trail.
