Xmas-citadel 19th Annual Victorian Christmas

Halifax Citadel National Historic Site

Let the spiced apple cider warm your hands and the sound of caroling children warm your heart at the 19th Annual Victorian Christmas. Watch the children light up with joy when they see Father Christmas and see them marvel at their own creativity when they make their own Christmas decorations. The Halifax Citadel will be broght to life with holiday cheer, festive activities and a glowing Christmas tree. The event takes place from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is a donation to FEED Nova Scotia.

AGNS Exhibit: ARENA: The Art of Hockey

The work in ARENA examines all aspects of our fascination with the game. The exhibition includes works in diverse media such as video projection, sculpture, installation, painting, printmaking and photography. The works in ARENA look at the construction of such concepts as hero-worship, desire, sacrifice and the sublimation of violence in the creation of group identity through sport. Sub-themes included the culture of spectacle in Western society, the role of sport in the creation of male idenity and the role of athletes as screens for the projection of desire and aspiration.

Little Ray's Reptile Zoo

It's a one of a kind, fun interactive experience and approach to Eco Education. Children and adults will learn about saving our planet and the incredible reptiles that roam the earth.

Morning showtimes are 9:30am, 10:30am and 11:30am. Afternoon shows are 12:30pm, 1:30pm and 3pm. Sundays will only have afternoon shows and Wednesdays have an extra show at 6:30pm.

Admission is $6 adults, $5 children 4-17 and under 3 is FREE.

Monarchs Exhibit
