Halifax vs Louisbourg: The Final Siege Exhibit
July 01, 2008  - November 02, 2008

MMAFlag
On May 29, 1758, the largest fleet of ships ever to set sail from Halifax left the harbour and headed north. This British armada, comprised of 150 ships carrying over 27,000 men, was bound for the French Fortress of Louisbourg to lay siege. The campaign lasted two months before British forces achieved their first major victory of the Seven Years War, a victory that would change the world, and Halifax forever.

Neptune Theatre presents "The Devil's Disciple"
September 16, 2008  - October 12, 2008

NeptuneBlack
The Devil's Disciple by George Bernard Shaw.

George Bernard Shaw loved to play devil's advocate. And it was never more apparent than in this early comedy that provides a defense for a rascally drinker who announces in a Puritan New Hampshire household that he's at the service of Lucifer.

Against the backdrop of the American Revolution, will anyone be able to save this poor soul from the gallows? Former Shaw Festival Artistic Director Christopher Newton brings his legendary directing skills to this timeless Shaw classic.
