From the founding of the of the city and shipwrecks in the harbour, to daring nighttime escapes during war and the Halifax Explosion, ferry passengers will experience Halifax's history in a unique and exciting way. As you travel on the oldest salt water ferry service in North America, sit back and let Jack Tar and the gang take you back in time.

Tunes at Noon Summer Concert Series

For the second year in a row, Councillor Dawn Sloane, the Downtown Halifax Business Commission and the Halifax Regional Municipality in association with Music Nova Scotia, are presenting the free summer concert series "Tunes at Noon" featuring Nova Scotian performers from a range of musical genres.

Tunes at Noon will take place every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 12 noon to 1pm. The series will run from July 15 to August 28.

5th Annual Bishop's Landing Summer Concert Series

The 5th Annual Summer Concert Series, brought to you by Southwest Properties Limited and Bishop's Landing, will feature 9 free outdoor concerts that will take place at the Piazza at Bishop's Landing from 2-4 pm. The series will begin on Sunday July 19th and will run every Sunday until September 13th. Featured artists will range in talent from up and coming musicians to seasoned Maritime artists and audiences will enjoy genres from jazz, folk and Celtic to easy listening and rock. Gates open at 8pm with showtime at 9pm or dusk. Admission is $5 donation to support this community event. If it is raining, we will screen the film the following night, same time, same place. AlFresco- goers are asked to bring your own balnket or lawn chair.

Women's Heritage Celebration

A unique 3-day event celebrating women's contributions to the home and community during the 1940s. Hands on demonstrations each day to learn how women were master recyclers during the 40s. Heritage textile displays, learn to darn, make preserves and bread or hook a rug with worn-out sweaters. Sunday tea social and church service.
