Ferry Boat Tales: Travel through time and across the Harbour

This summer Metro Transit Ferry passengers will have the chance to be dazzled by tales of Halifax's seafaring history. From the founding of the of the city and shipwrecks in the harbour, to daring nighttime escapes during war and the Halifax Explosion, ferry passengers will experience Halifax's history in a unique and exciting way. As you travel on the oldest salt water ferry service in North America, sit back and let Jack Tar and the gang take you back in time.

For the second year in a row, Councillor Dawn Sloane, the Downtown Halifax Business Commission and the Halifax Regional Municipality in association with Music Nova Scotia, are presenting the free summer concert series "Tunes at Noon" featuring Nova Scotian performers from a range of musical genres.
Tunes at Noon will take place every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 12 noon to 1pm. The series will run from July 15 to August 28.

5th Annual Bishop's Landing Summer Concert Series

The 5th Annual Summer Concert Series, brought to you by Southwest Properties Limited and Bishop's Landing, will feature 9 free outdoor concerts that will take place at the Piazza at Bishop's Landing from 2-4 pm. The series will begin on Sunday July 19th and will run every Sunday until September 13th. Featured artists will range in talent from up and coming musicians to seasoned Maritime artists and audiences will enjoy genres from jazz, folk and Celtic to easy listening and rock. In the event of poor weather, concerts will be held at the Hamachi Steakhouse at Bishop’s Landing. The performance schedule is as follows:

The Atlantic Film Festival Association is proud to present the 2009 line-up of summer outdoor movie fun for the whole family.
Gates open at 8pm with showtime at 9pm or dusk. Admission is $5 donation to support this community event. If it is raining, we will screen the film the following night, same time, same place. AlFresco- goers are asked to bring your own balnket or lawn chair.

The Nova Scotia Boatbuilders Association (NSBA) is presenting the 3rd Annual Nova Scotia In-Water Boat Show on the Halifax Waterfront, at Bishop's Landing.
The Nova Scotia In-Water Boat Show is a unique showcase of Maritime-built boats featuring pleasure boats, fishing boats, and workboats -ranging from 12' to 50' in length.
Visitors will be able to step aboard the boats and meet the builders.
Showtimes are Fri and Sat 10am to 8pm and Sun from 10am to 5pm.
Admission is $10 with children 12 & under FREE.

Pacific Curls Live at The Company House

Halifax's hot new music and arts venue, The Company House presents New Zealand group Pacific Curls.
Pacific Curls is a fresh and exciting musical collaboration between three talented women from distant parts of the globe. Ora Barlowe and Kim Halliday (New Zealand) have teamed up with Scottish musician Sarah Beattie and been fusing Maori, Pacific and Celtic sounds for three years now in their own blend of eclectic world roots music. The trio never ceases to wow audiences with their powerful voices, exciting array of instruments(ukulele, guitar, percussion, stompbox,fiddle and a whole assortment of Maori traditional instruments) and high energy performances.
Showtime is 8pm. Admission is $12 at the door.
