The age-old tale of boy-meets-girl, and the complications which ensue, intrigue every audience, and no musical puts it on stage better than ANYTHING GOES. This show is an amusing story wrapped around one of Cole Porter's magical scores.

Terrific Cole Porter songs include It's De-Lovely, Friendship, I Get A Kick Out Of You, All Through The Night, Anything Goes, You're The Top and Blow, Gabriel, Blow. It's a wonder that all the romances are sorted out and disaster is averted aboard the magical ship where ANYTHING GOES!

Dartmouth Community Concert Series presents Vishten

This group of four is composed of two Prince Edward Islanders, Pastelle LeBlanc (accordion, piano, dance, voice) and her twin sister Emmanuelle LeBlanc (bodhran, piano, whistles, dance, voice), and Louis-Charles Vigneau (guitar, banjo, mandoline, voice) and Pascal Miousse (fiddle, mandolin, guitar, voice), both from the Magdalen Islands. Their music is “a hearty mixture of the French, Irish and Scottish styles of Eastern Canada”. It reflects a joie de vivre – flying fingers, tapping feet, and a sense of celebration.

Tickets are $25 adults, $20 seniors and $10 students. The concert begins at 8pm.

Olympic Torch Event

Start your morning with a bang as the Citadel's signal gun and 78th Highlanders mark the lighting and departure of the Olympic Torch from Halifax on Day 22. Cheer on the Torchbearers, sign a special note to be sent to our Canadian athletes and come try on a pair of Victorian era ice skates or try your hand at scoring with a mid nineteenth century hockey stick.

Parks Canada, assisted by the Nova Scotia Sports Hall of Fame, will be providing an up close look at how sports like hockey were played over 100 years ago. Admission to the site will be free.

Parking may be limited on-site.

This event starts at 6:30am with the Olympic torch leaving at 7:15am.

Singing for Supper

2009 marks the 6th season for Singing for Supper- a cross Canada concert series raising funds for food banks, ministries and food programs. Tom Jackson takes to the stage for an unforgettable one hour performance of Christmas favorites in intimate environments ranginf from churches to community halls. Speical guests are Shannon Gaye and Pear.

Tickets are $20 adults and $15 students and seniors. Proceeds go to FEED Nova Scotia. Food donations are also welcome.
