The Mirror Boy explores identity within the African Diaspora through the story of 12-year-old, London-born Tijani's enchanting journey through The Gambia, following "the mirror boy," who only he can see. Introduction and Q&A session with the film's Writer and Director Obi Emelonye. Presented in partnership with the African Diaspora Association of the Maritimes and the Nova Scotia-Gambia Association. 20th Annual Victorian Christmas at the Halifax Citadel National Historic
Site of Canada.
Watch the children light up with joy when they see Father Christmas and see them marvel at their own creativity when they make their Christmas decorations. Take in the performances of your local choirs, bands and dance groups. Listen to stories of years gone by or visit the Citadel's award-winning exhibits. Relax in the Coffee Shop or get a jump on your holiday gifts at the Regimental Gift Shop.
The Halifax Citadel NHS will be brought to life with holiday cheer, festive activities, and a glowing Christmas tree. Visitors of all ages will delight in the Soldier’s Christmas Play, Victorian Games, crafts and a visit with Father Christmas.
Take a break from the holiday rush, and step back in time at Victorian Christmas from 12noon to 4pm.

3rd Annual Kilted Christmas

The Amethyst Scottish Dancers of Nova Scotia are celebrating with their third annual yuletide show, ‘A Kilted Christmas’-the theme this year is ‘An East Coast Christmas’.
Along with Amethyst's own great troupe of dancers, the 2009 'A Kilted Christmas' will showcase some wonderful east coast talent. Special guests include Juno nominee and multiple ECMA award winner John Gracie, as well as critically acclaimed Ardyth & Jennifer with their unique mixture of harps & song. Troy MacGillivray, another ECMA winner, returns for his second ‘A Kilted Christmas’ appearance. The RCMP Pipes Drums & Dancers in their kilts & red serge tunics bring the skirl of the pipes. Amethyst is also very proud to shine the spotlight on a couple of stars rising out of their own group; Cassie Anne & Maggie Jane MacDonald, performers in the 2009 Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo as well as the 2009 Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling competition in Ottawa.
Rickets are $23 adults and $18 students and seniors. The event begins at 2pm.
