Bud and his grandson-in-law Paul are going on a road trip from Calgary to Bud's retirement trailer in Mesa, Arizona. Paul is hoping the adventure of the trip will lift him out of his writer's block. Bud is hell-bent on visiting his favorite Motel 6 haunts along the way, and isn't willing to veer off the beaten path.
Written by Canadian playwright Doug Curtis, Mesa follows these unlikely travel companions as their often comic disagreements make way for a heartfelt friendship.

Metamorphic Theatre presents "Five Minutes to Curtain"

"Five Minutes to Curtain" is about the journey of a young woman diagnosed with leukemia. Rather than focusing on the illness and
hospital visits, her story revolves around her everyday experiences – with her disease as the backdrop and her life as the spotlight.
Tickets are $15 advance and $20 at the door. Showtime is 7:30pm with a 4pm matinee on Feb 27. Proceeds will benefit the Canadian Cancer Society.

Chebucto Symphony Orchestra in Concert

The Chebucto Symphony Orchestra takes you away from the cold city streets to a rural setting in its upcoming concert at 8pm.
Under the musical direction of conductor Christopher Palmer, the orchestra will perform Larssons Pastoral Suite and Beethovens Pastoral Symphony. Michael Chisholm is the featured soloist for Mozarts Horn Concerto #3.
Tickets are $15 regular and $10 for seniors and students, and are available at the door.
A second matinee concert, aimed at attracting families, will take place on Saturday, March 6th at 2pm at St. Matthews United Church on Barrington Street, Halifax. All tickets are $5 and are available at the door.

Halifax's Fine Arts Parents Association presents Winterlude 2010 from 7:30pm to midnight.
The night features both the
vocal and instrumental talents of the Halifax All-City Music program, and includes dessert and a silent auction. There's free parking at the front entrance of Pier 21, and all profits go directly to support student development in the arts.
