Free Diversity Spotlight film screening and Canadian premiere of the international award-winning Nollywood film, The Mirror Boy. The Mirror Boy explores identity within the African Diaspora through the story of 12-year-old, London-born Tijani's enchanting journey through The Gambia, following "the mirror boy," who only he can see. Introduction and Q&A session with the film's Writer and Director Obi Emelonye. Presented in partnership with the African Diaspora Association of the Maritimes and the Nova Scotia-Gambia Association. What happens when you use a different identity when you come to the city from your home in the city from your home in the country? What if your friend finds out and decides to play along, without your knowledge? Enjoy the confusion of wedding proposals, christenings, and surprise guests when two men use the same false identity. This Oscar Wilde play is filled with the rich accessories from the upper-class life of the 1890s. The contradictory views on marriage and romance mixed with cucumber sandwiches, afternoon tea, and a dash of proper manners - all topped off with the wit and satire of the upper-class bachelor. The confusion starts in the city and moves to the country as our characters begin to uncover the Importance of Being Earnest.

The Music Room Chamber Music Society Concert

The Music Room Chamber Music Society will hold a concert entitled " Music of Spain". The concert will feature the music by De Falla, Turina, Ravel, Bizet and others- all inspired by the music of Spain.
