Free Diversity Spotlight film screening and Canadian premiere of the international award-winning Nollywood film, The Mirror Boy. The Mirror Boy explores identity within the African Diaspora through the story of 12-year-old, London-born Tijani's enchanting journey through The Gambia, following "the mirror boy," who only he can see. Introduction and Q&A session with the film's Writer and Director Obi Emelonye. Presented in partnership with the African Diaspora Association of the Maritimes and the Nova Scotia-Gambia Association. This film is rated PG and is presented in English. Event Time: 7-10 p.m.

2nd Great Canadian Backyard Campout

Parks Canada is proud to partner with the Trail Shop and the Halifax Citadel Regimental Association, to present the 2nd Great Canadian Backyard Campout, taking place from Saturday, July 3rd to Sunday, July 4th.
Families and groups can now register for a unique camping adventure inside the walls of the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site of Canada.
Knowledgeable staff from Parks Canada, the Trail Shop, and the Halifax Citadel Regimental Association will be on site to demonstrate both
traditional and modern camping practices and techniques. Other activities to take place during the event include campfire stories, music, games, camping demonstrations, family-friendly ghost tours, and tenting within the walls of the fort.
Registration is $75 per group (up to four individuals), and $15 for each additional participant. The fee includes two meals, an evening treat,
entertainment, and the use of a tent(participants may choose to bring their own).
While space for the event at the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site is limited to just 150 participants, residents are encouraged to camp in their own backyard or in nearby parks such as Kejimkujik NP and NHS.
