Free Diversity Spotlight film screening and Canadian premiere of the international award-winning Nollywood film, The Mirror Boy. The Mirror Boy explores identity within the African Diaspora through the story of 12-year-old, London-born Tijani's enchanting journey through The Gambia, following "the mirror boy," who only he can see. Introduction and Q&A session with the film's Writer and Director Obi Emelonye. Presented in partnership with the African Diaspora Association of the Maritimes and the Nova Scotia-Gambia Association. This film is rated PG and is presented in English. Event Time: 7-10 p.m.

The Halifax Duck Derby
September 18, 2010
12 noon until 3 pm. A fun family event taking place at Bishop's Landing on the Halifax Waterfront. At the Halifax Duck Derby watch over 10,000 rubber ducks race for the Grand Prize, a 2010 Hyundai Accent. It is free to attend and duck adoptions are only $10 each or 3 for $25. There will be a Kids Zone with a duck costume contest, a bouncy castle, face painting, games, music, prizes and more.
