Free Diversity Spotlight film screening and Canadian premiere of the international award-winning Nollywood film, The Mirror Boy. The Mirror Boy explores identity within the African Diaspora through the story of 12-year-old, London-born Tijani's enchanting journey through The Gambia, following "the mirror boy," who only he can see. Introduction and Q&A session with the film's Writer and Director Obi Emelonye. Presented in partnership with the African Diaspora Association of the Maritimes and the Nova Scotia-Gambia Association. This film is rated PG and is presented in English. Event Time: 7-10 p.m.

Dartmouth Heritage House Tour

Visitors can take in all of these fine properties on one afternoon or they can spread their visit over both days of the tour. The Dartmouth Heritage Museum Historic House Tour is taking place on Saturday, September 25 and Sunday September, 26 from noon to 5:00. Tickets are available at Evergreen House or from Ticket Atlantic for $ 15 or on the day of the tour for $ 20. Afternoon Tea is
$6 at the door of Oakwood House on the day.
64 Queen Street was built in 1888 and has housed many prominent Dartmouthians over the years.
54 Pleasant Street is a 2 ½ storey Romanesque/Italianate Mansion and has a rich history of ownership that featured many prominent Dartmouth citizens over the years.
245 Portland Street offers an excellent example of the Second Empire style of historic architecture.
35 Edward Street in the heart of Downtown Dartmouth is described as Scottish Vernacular, but with many quirky additions and renovations.
12 Tulip Street at the corner of Pine Street. This home was built around 1907 by Archibald Gates for his own family and the finest turn of the century craftsmanship and materials are on display for all visitors to admire.
This year’s tour is not limited to residential properties. Victoria Road Baptist Church, just up the street from Ochterloney Street is a quaint Gothic Revival style church that was built on lands occupied by Christ Church in 1853.
And finally, tea will be served at historic Oakwood House at 20 Boathouse Lane. Originally a family residence, this Queen Anne style building is now home to the North Star Rowing Club.
