The Mirror Boy explores identity within the African Diaspora through the story of 12-year-old, London-born Tijani's enchanting journey through The Gambia, following "the mirror boy," who only he can see. Introduction and Q&A session with the film's Writer and Director Obi Emelonye. Presented in partnership with the African Diaspora Association of the Maritimes and the Nova Scotia-Gambia Association. This film is rated PG and is presented in English. Event Time: 7-10 p.m.

Held in Halifax, Fall for Flamenco is Canada's main flamenco festival eagerly awaited each year by finger-twirling, foot stomping, lamenting singing and intricate guitar fans all over the country. This unique
artistic event promises everything flamenco including free concerts and performances by local and guest artists as well as beginner and advanced
workshops. Opening October 2nd with a special 5th Anniversary Night Extravaganza featuring live tango, flamenco and a salsa dance party, the festival runs for two weeks until October 20th. Directly from Seville, La Zambra will be performing on October 14 and 15. Feel the passion,fall for flamenco.

8The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure is Canada's largest single day, volunteer-led fundraising event dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research, and education and awareness programs.
Each year, thousands of Canadians of all ages and from all walks of life unite to participate in the Run. Their reasons for participating vary, but they all have the same goal; to create a future without breast cancer.

The NSYC, a project of the Nova Scotia Choral Federation, has some 35 talented young people aged 16 to 25 from across Nova Scotia, including Sydney Mines, New Glasgow,
Liverpool and the Halifax area.
$25 regular price,
$20 for seniors and $10 for students. The cost of attending an
individual concert may be credited toward a membership for the balance
of the season, if one wishes. You can order tickets online through the
DCCA website.
