The Mirror Boy explores identity within the African Diaspora through the story of 12-year-old, London-born Tijani's enchanting journey through The Gambia, following "the mirror boy," who only he can see. Introduction and Q&A session with the film's Writer and Director Obi Emelonye. Presented in partnership with the African Diaspora Association of the Maritimes and the Nova Scotia-Gambia Association. This film is rated PG and is presented in English. Event Time: 7-10 p.m.

Maritime Marionettes presents the favorite folktale of an aging donkey who follows his dream to become a musician. On the road to Bremen town, he befriends a dog, a cat and a rooster, who like him, are no longer needed as farm animals. Together they form a comical quartet and a bond that will last the rest of their lives.
The visuals of the show are performed with eloquent shadow puppets, exquisitely made marionettes and the Taylor's masterful manipulation. The inspiring soundtrack combines bedtime story style narration, whimsical music and side splitting animal sounds.
From the opening scene to the hilarious and touching ending, this timeless tale of friendship and enthusiasm for life will inspire and entertain the child in us all.

Dartmouth Community Concert Series presents "Penaedre Wind Quintet"

The Dartmouth Community Concert Association presents the 2nd concert of its 2010-11 season with a performance by Pentaedre Wind Quintet at 8pm.
This group has been delighting audiences since 1985, performing varied chamber music repertoire, original and often less known. The group has been heard in most major chamber music festivals in Eastern Canada and has toured in Canada, Europe and the United States. The group features Louis-Philippe Marsolais (horn and Artistic Director), Mathieu Lussier (bassoon), Mélanie Harel (oboe), Martin Carpentier (clarinet) and Deniele Bourget (flute). This performance is presented with the assistance of Debut Atlantic.
