Experiencing Sable Island
February 01, 2011
Photographer, Bernadette Morris invites you to join her in an illustrated talk on her trip to Sable Island, Nova Scotia, summer 2009. As a stay-at-home-photographer, she turns her camera into a sponge as she captures her version of this windswept oasis in the cold Atlantic waters with its wild horses, shipwrecks and natural history. An island rich with fascinating geology, one cannot help but experience deep admiration and respect for those responsible for the survival of Sable along with hope for her future.
Bernadette wishes to share her experiences through an enlightening and informative photographic journey which will leave you feeling the sunshine on your face and salt on your lips. Sable Island has much to teach us about our fragile landscapes and ourselves. While capturing the beauty and fragility of this gem, it is Bernadette's intention to educate those who wish to learn more about the efforts to help Sable survive in her natural beauty.
